welcome to the army jrotc. the purpose of this lesson is to review the importance of the values, standards, and standards of conduct in the army jrotc. students must know and understand the principles of leadership, self-reliance, and the values of the military. under the leadership of a staff officer, the company will learn military history, including the art of war and the principles of leadership. the company will learn team building, community service, and basic military skills. the company will learn about military careers and will explore the possibility of joining the military after completing high school. students must complete the curriculum specified by their high school. this lesson describes the values, standards, and standards of conduct of the army jrotc. the standards are the bases upon which the members of the army jrotc are judged, the values are the core beliefs that drive the members to excel, and the standards of conduct are the code of behavior that is expected of all members of the army jrotc. it is the intention of the military leaders to develop a corps of cadets who are: intelligent, physically fit, mentally alert, and morally upright. the standards of conduct for cadets will be used to judge each member of the army jrotc during their service in the army jrotc. the cadets will conduct themselves in a manner that is polite, courteous, safe, and professional at all times. cadets will adhere to the standards of conduct in the army jrotc, they will be respectful and courteous to all who are in their presence, they will exercise self-control and they will behave in a manner that will uphold the pride of the united states army and the united states flag.
